CS:GO’s First Operation In Two Years Features a Battle Pass Format and Character Skins

Valve have released a first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive operation in more than two years called Operation Shattered Web. The operation adopts currently popular Battle Pass format and is available for $14.99. In addition to more standard rewards, for the first time the operation introduces unique character skins.

Operation Main Features:

  • Rewards are awarded for leveling up your Battle Pass, which can be made by either competing weekly missions or via purchases
  • Rewards include character skins, weapons skins, stickers, graffiti, and more
  • New cooperative campaign called Guardian Strike
  • New maps: Lunacy for Flying Scoutsman and Jungle for Danger Zone; both of the maps are available for regular matchmaking games. The update also introduces a new defuse map Studio
  • New End-of-Match screen, showcasing players with achievements such as most assists, most MVPs, etc.

The update also introduces several significant balance changes, such as:

  • Increased price of SG553 to $3000 to bring its price more in line with its value
  • Reduced the price of FAMAS and Galil by $200 (to $2050 and $1800, respectively)
  • Improved full-auto spraying accuracy of FAMAS and Galil
