DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019: Heroic and CR4ZY Among Favourites
This weekend the American city of Atlanta will host a DreamHack Open event, where eight teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool.
DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019 is scheduled for November 15-17th and will be held at Georgia World Congress Center. Among the tournament’s participants are six invited teams, including Chaos E.C., CR4ZY, Heroic, Illuminar Gaming, Sprout and Virtus.pro. The other two teams – INTZ eSports and Triumph – managed to make it through the North American qualifier.
The event will begin with a group stage, where the participants will compete in two GSL groups. The opening and winners’ matches will be best-of-one, while the elimination and decider matches will be best-of-three. The teams have been seeded into the groups as follows:
| Group A | Group B |
| Heroic | Chaos E.C. |
| Illuminar Gaming | CR4ZY |
| Sprout | INTZ eSports |
| Triumph | Virtus.pro |
In the Group A’s opening matches Heroic will face Triumph, while Sprout will compete with Illuminar Gaming. In the first series of Group B Chaos E.C. will play with CR4ZY, while Virtus.pro will face INTZ eSports. Best two teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination playoffs bracket with best-of-three series.
While the tournament’s line-up is not that impressive, there are still teams to follow. As of now, GG.Bet believes that the main favourites of the event are European teams Heroic and CR4ZY. Heroic, who are currently placed 16th in the world rankings, recently acquired Casper "cadiaN" Møller from North and during the month managed to place 2nd at DreamHack Open Rotterdam 2019 and qualify for EPICENTER 2019. The other favourite of the event – CR4ZY – is placed 19th in the world rankings and recently emerged victorious at the DreamHack event in Rotterdam and a month earlier participated in StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, where placed 9-11th after losing to Natus Vincere in the New Legends Stage, securing a Challenger status.
