Nitr0 Reportedly out of Team Liquid, Replaced by Grim
According to a report by Jarek “DeKay” Lewis, Team Liquid are planning to replace Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella with Michael "Grim" Wince. The organization confirmed that they are going to change their CS:GO roster, however currently are unable to provide details. Nitr0 tweeted the following message, which potentially confirms his departure from the team: “Until next time, friends”.
24-years-old Nitr0 has been part of Team Liquid since early 2015. Last year the team managed to achieve incredible results, winning five major events in a row, including DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, ESL One: Cologne 2019, BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles 2019 and Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Chicago, as well as becoming the champions of Intel Grand Slam Season 2. However, after placing 5-8th at StarLadder berlin Major 2019 the team’s results diminished significantly, and eventually the team left the first position in the world rankings.
19-years-old Grim is widely considered to be one of the most high-potential players in the region. Since February he has been playing for Triumph – despite the team’s weaker results, Grim still managed to average a 1.31 rating.
Next tournament for Team Liquid is DreamHack Open Summer 2020: North America, which is scheduled for August 8th – 16th. It is expected that the team will perform there with Grim.
