S0m Retires from CS:GO, Joins NRG’s Valorant Roster
18-years-old American player Sam "s0m" Oh has left Gen.G Esports and finished his CS:GO career. He will continue competing in RIOT Games’ shooter VALORANT and has already joined NRG Esports.
s0m has been playing CS:GO competitively since 2017. He joined Gen.G Esports last December – with them he won DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020 and ESL One: Road to Rio NA, as well as placed 2nd at cs_summit 6 NA and 4th at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 American Showdown.
Gen.G Esports are now left with only three players in their roster – including Timothy "autimatic" Ta, Kenneth "koosta" Suen and Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand. The team has four weeks to complete their line-up before the start of FLASHPOINT Season 2, where they are one of the founding members.
NRG Esports opened their VALORANT division this Monday by signing Damian "daps" Steele as their first player and Chet "Chet" Singh as their coach – both of them came from the CS:GO scene. Besides that, daps and s0m used to play together in Gen.G.
