Our partners AVANGAR managed to place first at a $100,000 CS:GO event DreamHack Open Rio de Janeiro 2019. In the grand finals of the event they defeated the crowd-favourites FURIA Esports with the 2-1 score, securing $50,000 in prize money.
During the group stage AVANGAR competed in Group A, where they placed first after defeating eUnited (25:23) and INTZ eSports (16:8). Later in the semifinals AVANGAR outplayed Valiance (2-1). In the grand finals FURIA Esports won the first map (Vertigo – 16:2), but lost the following two maps (Inferno – 8:16; Train – 16:19).
DreamHack Rio de Janeiro 2019 was held over April 19th – 21st at Parque Olimpico in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. First, eight teams competed in two GSL groups. Then top two teams from each group advanced to a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three series.
