AVANGAR Defeat Team Kinguin to Qualify for Adrenaline Cyber League 2018

The European qualifiers for the upcoming LAN-finals of Adrenaline Cyber League 2018 have concluded with the victory of AVANGAR over Team Kinguin with the 2-1 score. At the event they will compete with SK Gaming, Gambit Esports and Virtus.pro for their share of a $100,000 prize pool.

The qualifiers featured eight European and CIS teams competing in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three series. Five teams of them received direct invites from the organizers – Vega Squadron, Team Kinguin, AVANGAR and Team Spirit, while Windigo Academy, KPI Gaming and Asterion made it through the open qualifiers. To reach the grand finals, AVANGAR defeated 2-0 both Vega Squadron and Quantum Bellator Fire, while Team Kinguin outplayed Asterion (2-1) and KPI Gaming (2-0). In the grand finals all three maps were played – Team Kinguin managed to win the first map – Dust II – 16-14, but then lost both Overpass (14:16) and Train (11:16).

The LAN-finals will be held on May 23-24 in Moscow, with Adrenaline Stadium being the venue of the tournament. The format of the event hasn’t been announced yet. In the previous year the event featured a 4-teams single-elimination bracket with best-of-three series. Then in the grand finals Virtus.pro defeated Natus Vincere 2-1 and received $65,000 in prize money.
