Mineski are the champions of PGL Open Bucharest Minor
A newly formed roster of Mineski are the champions of the second minor Dota 2 tournament in the competitive season – PGL Open Bucharest. They received $130,000 and 150 Qualifier Points.
PGL Open Bucharest started with a group stage, which was held on October 19-21. Eight teams were divided into two groups with GSL format. Two best teams from each group advanced to the playoffs, while the other two were eliminated.
The future champions of the tournament were placed in Group B, where they defeated Natus Vincere (2-1) and Evil Geniuses (2-0), making it to the playoffs from the first place.
Meanwhile, Group A was dominated by LGD Gaming, who outplayed Infamous (2-0) and Immortals (2-1).
The tournament continued with playoffs stage on October 22. In the semifinals Immortals were defeated by Mineski, Evil Geniuses lost to LGD, thus both teams who placed first in their groups faced each other in Grand Finals. Mineski managed to improve their last result, when they made it to the finals of StarLadder i-League Invitational S3, but lost it to the current world champions Team Liquid. This time the SEA team under the direction of experienced Mushi secured first place, taking home $130,000 and 150 Dota Pro Circuit points towards The International 2018.
Prize pool distribution:
- 1st place: Mineski ($130,000 and 150 DPC Points)
- 2nd place: LGD Gaming ($65,000 and 90 DPC Points)
- 3rd-4th place: Immortals, Evil Geniuses ($30,000 and 30 DPC Points)
- 5th-6th place: Team Secret, VGJ.Thunder ($15,000)
- 7th-8th place: Infamous, Natus Vincere ($7,500)
