WePlay! to Organize the Next RMR-Event for CIS
WePlay! have announced Clutch Island, the next RMR-event for the CIS region. The event is scheduled for June 16th – 28th and will feature eight teams competing for a $50,000 prize pool as well as qualification points towards the major tournament ESL One: Rio 2020.
The organizers have already invited five teams to the main part of the tournament – among them are Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, Winstrike Team, Team Spirit and Hard Legion Esports. The final three participants will be determined through the qualifiers. The teams will be split into two GSL groups. Top two teams from each group will advance to the double-elimination playoffs bracket. All series, including the grand finals, will be best-of-three.
The main event will be preceded by the qualifiers. Nemiga Gaming, Syman Gaming, Gambit Youngsters, forZe and ESPADA were already invited to the closed qualifiers, the final three participants will be determined through the open qualifiers. The open stage will be played on June 8th – 10th, the dates for closed stage were not announced.
Earlier we reported that the next RMR-event for both Europe and North America will be organized by Beyond the Summit and called cs_summit 6. Besides that, Valve announced that this summer there will not be RMR-events for South America and Oceania. The organizer of the Asian event remains unknown.
